Police said a woman asked police to come to her home and allowed them to come inside, despite the drug paraphernalia in plain sight.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Saturday to 378 16th Ave. SW when a woman reported an unknown man was ringing her back doorbell and trying to get in. Police searched the area but did not find anyone matching the description.
Quiana McMackin, 30, who reported the incident, talked to police at her back door. When officers came inside the house, they noticed needles, spoons and a bong with marijuana residue on it, police said.
"Lying on the kitchen counter was the drug paraphernalia," Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said.
McMackin said the drug paraphernalia was not hers, and Hamblin said police are continuing to investigate that claim. Because they could not prove ownership, Hamblin said McMackin was cited for disorderly house for allegedly allowing drug activity in her home.
Police said no drugs were found, and McMackin did not appear to be under the influence of any drugs. She was allowed to sign a promise to appear in court and was released.
