Over a dozen people attended a demonstration in Iowa City from 7 to 8 a.m. today to mark the beginning of the eighth year of the war in Iraq.
Names of Iowa service men and women killed in Iraq were read along with names of some of the Iraqi civilians killed in the war.
The event involved members of PEACE Iowa and Veterans for Peace. Another vigil is planned from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the same location -- in front of the Old Capitol, at the corner of Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue in downtown Iowa City.
