An Iowa man who prosecutors say distributed more than 1,200 pounds of marijuana and nearly 300 pounds of cocaine will spend nearly 7 years in federal prison.
U.S. District Judge James Gritzner sentenced 51-year-old Richard Mendez on Friday to 81 months in prison.
Prosecutors say Mendez was part of a Colorado based conspiracy and helped distribute drugs in the Quad Cities area between 2004 and 2007.
The Davenport man was arrested after Bettendorf police seized 80 pounds of marijuana from a Bettendorf hotel room.
