Crawfordsville bank director charged with embezzling over $800,000

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Crawfordsville bank director has been charged with embezzling over $800,000 from the company and will plead guilty Oct. 6 in federal court.
Heidi Wagler, 50, of Wayland, is charged with one count of embezzlement by a bank officer, according to information filed in U.S. District Court Monday. Wagler, as a bank director, is accused of embezzling $864,835 from the banks controlled by Country Bancorporation from June 2004 through October 2013.
There are no further details of the alleged crime available. The plea agreement hasn't been filed at this time.
Wagler faces up to 30 years in prison, a fine of up to twice the loss resulting from her offense and five years of supervised release following any prison time. Wagler also could be ordered to pay restitution to any victims.
