County office location open houses set

Open houses on the future location of a Linn County office building will be held the last week of October.

The Board of Supervisors is looking for public input on five options: staying at Steve & Barry's; buying and rehabbing the old Econofoods; renovating the Administrative Office Building; going back to the Administrative Office Building as it was before the flood; or building a new facility with the city and/or school district.

Meetings are scheduled for Monday through Thursday, Oct. 26 through Oct. 29:

• Monday, Oct. 26, Mount Vernon Middle School, 525 Palisades Rd., Mount Vernon, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• Tuesday, Oct. 27, Truman Elementary School, 441 West Post Rd. NW, TBA

• Wednesday, Oct. 28, The History Center, 615 First Ave. SE, 11:30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m.

• Wednesday, Oct. 28, Marion City Hall, 1225 Sixth Ave., Marion, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Oct. 29, Hiawatha City Hall, 81 Emmons St., Hiawatha, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
