Council Bluffs man beaten, robbed and thrown into river

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Department officials say they are investigating an incident of assault and robbery.
Sheriff Jeff Danker says deputies were called to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs early Thursday on a report a 27-year old male resident of Council Bluffs had been beaten, robbed, and thrown into the Missouri River.
The identity and condition of the victim has not been released.
Authorities are trying to locate two Council Bluffs residents believed to have been with the victim.
Danker says anyone with information about the attack are asked to contact the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Department.
