Coralville seeking National Night Out volunteers

The City of Coralville will be taking part in the 28th annual "National Night Out" on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 6-10 p.m. in neighborhoods throughout town, Coralville Police Chief Barry Bedford said in a press release.
"National Night Out" is a night in which individuals in thousands of communities across the United States and beyond come together not only to socialize, but also show criminals that there is alliance among neighbors, police and other community agencies.
The Coralville Police Department is currently looking for volunteers to help organize and register for block parties in their respective neighborhoods. The block parties can be large or small, and community members are encouraged to be creative when planning.
Representatives from the Coralville Police Depatment, Fire Department and City Council will attempt to visit each registered party.
