Coralville man faces three drug charges after home search

A Coralville man faces three drug-related charges after authorities say they found controlled substances while executing a search warrant at his home Tuesday.

Joseph J. Barrett, 23, of 2551 Holiday Road Apt. E6, is charged with a controlled substance violation, a class D felony, possession or distribution without a tax stamp, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to Johnson County sheriff's office records, that a digital scale, a bag containing cocaine and packages containing a total of approximately 626 grams of marijuana were located in the residence.

Multiple firearms, including two loaded handguns, were also allegedly found in Barrett's home.

Barrett was being held at the Johnson County Jail Wednesday morning, waiting to appear before a judge.
