Coralville man faces charge of first-degree murder in fatal stabbing

CORALVILLE — A Coralville man has been arrested in connection to a fatal Friday stabbing.
According to a news release from the Coralville Police Department, James Fuller Martin, 47, was arrested Friday and faces a charge of first-degree murder. He remains in custody at the Johnson County Jail.
The release states the arrest is in relation to an early Friday incident in which Coralville officers were called to the 2800 block of Spring Rose Circle for a reported stabbing. An injured woman was found at the scene, and she was ultimately declared dead despite officers’ live-saving efforts.
No further details on the incident are being released at this time, and the victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification. Police believe the incident to be isolated in nature with no lingering threat to the public.
