Coralville City Council topics include arena project, short-term rentals
CORALVILLE - The Coralville City Council this evening is likely to approve a $12 million grant from the state for the Iowa Arena project at Iowa River Landing, as well as restrictions on short-term rentals.
The city council meets at 6:30 p.m. at Coralville City Hall, 1512 Seventh St.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority has already awarded Coralville $12 million in state aid from the Reinvestment District program. The entire Iowa Arena project is expected to cost $70 million.
Also on the agenda is an ordinance that includes restrictions for citizens who rent homes through websites like Airbnb, which the council approved 5-0 during the first reading.
