Close call for Allegiant flight from Cedar Rapids to Las Vegas

Allegiant Airlines confirms that flight 461 between Cedar Rapids and Las Vegas had an emergency landing Friday night.
The front tire of the jet blew out on take off from The Eastern Iowa Airport. The crew and passengers braced for an emergency landing in Las Vegas.
The aircraft landed safely with emergency vehicles standing by and taxied to the edge of the runway so the tire could be repaired.
After the repair the jet continued to the gate where the passengers deplaned safely.
The incident sparked extra interest and caution because President Obama was in Las Vegas and Air Force One nearby at the same airport.
