Clickstop planning $6 million expansion

Clickstop, an Urbana-based e-commerce retailer, is planning a $6 million expansion that will add about 100 employees by the end of 2018.
The company, which employs more than 120 people, owns and operates several brands out of its two facilities in Urbana.
Clickstop, founded in 2005. serves markets ranging from the moving and cargo control industries to energy efficient insulation, fasteners and home storage solutions.
In recent years, Clickstop has experienced rapid growth, prompting the company to expand its office and manufacturing facility at 202 Blue Creek Dr. in 2012 by 43,000 square feet. The 35,000-square-foot building opened in 2011.
Clickstop has grown from a handful of employees. The company reopened its original facility at 2535 Bing Miller Lane in Urbana to provide more space for its operations.
Two years ago, Clickstop began manufacturing tie-down products for its flagship brand US Cargo Control. The company had previously imported the straps from China.
Clickstop Founder and CEO Tim Guenther will unveil the company's preliminary plans when Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, tours the company today.
'We are extremely fortunate to have experienced such success in a short amount of time and we know our location in Urbana and the resources available here have helped us along the way,” Guenther said in a news release.
Durham will be visiting Benton County as part of a local economic event hosted by the Benton Development Group.
