City of Iowa City's web site hacked

The City of Iowa City's Web site was hacked over the weekend and someone embedded Malware - or malicious software - onto the site.
According to Gary Cohn, the Coordinator for the city's information technology department, said he learned Sunday afternoon the site had been broken into, but said the site is no longer a threat to viewers.
While Cohn said the Web site had been hacked before, the incident over the weekend was the worst yet.
Only content was altered, he said, adding that nothing internally - like information with bank account numbers - was accessed.
Cohn said he hopes to have the Web site completely cleaned up by Monday afternoon.
