The City of Cedar Rapids wants the public's help in cleaning up the city.
The city has received a lot of calls complaining about litter.
The Solid Waste Agency has two workers that pick up trash in the right-of-ways, but that's only when they finish their other duties.
So the city is asking for people who call the city home, to pitch in.
"We do what we can as the city of Cedar Rapids but everybody works together to create the community we want it to be," said Megan Murphy, Utilities Department.
Residents can join the "spring sweep" city-wide clean up May 1st or ask the city for a special mint-green bags and gloves for free to pick up trash on your own and put it out with your weekly trash.
