A Chicago man stopped for speeding in Cedar Rapids has pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
Tim Wiggins, 27, admitted he was carrying the drug when Cedar Rapids police stopped his vehicle for speeding on Interstate 380 on Dec. 19, 2008. He consented to a pat-down search. During that search, a bag containing 80.3 grams (almost 3 ounces) of crack cocaine fell from his pant leg, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Wiggins has been convicted of a felony drug offense before and faces up to 20 years in prison. He is in custody pending a presentence report.
