Ceremony set for sculptures donated to Iowa City

A public ceremony will be held Nov. 4 to recognize the donation of five sculptures to Iowa City's Public Art Program.
The wood-carved sculptures were made by Russian artist Valery Kovalev and installed at Willow Creek Park this month. Art Small donated two works, Howard and Stephen Dewey two more and Khristofor Agassandian donated the fifth.
The ceremony starts at 4 p.m. at the park, 1117 Teg Dr., off Benton Street. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Marcia Bollinger, the city's public art coordinator, at (319) 356-5237 or
