Central City teen rolls car after swerving to miss deer

A Center Point teen swerved to a miss a deer last night and ended up rolling her vehicle, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said.
Mellice Rasmusson, 17, of Central City was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. She was the only person in the vehicle and was wearing her seat belt, authorities said.
Sheriff's deputies responded at 9:31 p.m. to the area of Central City Road east of Rath Road. They concluded that Rasmusson was traveling west on Central City Road in a Toyota Camry when she served to miss the deer.
The crash remains under investigation.
