CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids woman has claimed the final top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Baseball Winnings” scratch game
Jacquelyn Simmons won $50,000 with a scratch card she purchased at Kwik Star, 4141 Center Point Rd. NE and claimed her prize Tuesday, according to an Iowa Lottery news release.
Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, players have claimed more than $4.8 billion in prizes, while the lottery has raised more than $2.1 billion for state programs.
Lottery proceeds support four main programs in Iowa: the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund, the Iowa Public Safety Survivor Benefits Fund, the state general fund and the Vision Iowa Program, which helps pay for projects aimed to increase tourism.
