Cedar Rapids visitors bureau names new CEO

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau announced Monday that Aaron McCreight has been chosen as its new chief executive officer, beginning May 11.
McCreight is currently the CEO of the Casper Area Convention & Visitors Bureau/Casper Area Sports Alliance in Casper, Wyo. He is also the owner and general manager of the Casper Cutthroats Baseball Club.
During his tenure at Visit Casper, McCreight's collaborative approach has integrated tourism into the fabric of business decisions in the community. In 2010 McCreight was named to the Casper Star-Tribune's list of 'Wyoming's Top 20 Under Forty” as well as 'Sports Professional of the Year” by the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce.
In 2011 he was honored with 'Sports Advocate of the Year” by the Casper Area Sports & Attractions Committee. Also for the past five years (2010-14) under his leadership, Visit Casper was presented with the 'Award of Excellence” by SportsEvents Magazine.
McCreight also has served as the vice president of the River City Rage in St. Charles, Mo., the general manager of the River City Rascals in O'Fallon, Mo. and the assistant general manager of the Casper Rockies in Casper, Wyo. He is a native of St. Louis.
