A rally in Cedar Rapids for President Donald Trump has been postponed.
Trump was scheduled to appear at the DoubleTree By Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m.
The visit to Iowa is expected to be rescheduled for some time in mid-June, according to Eric Branstad, the son of former Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad who works in the Trump administration.
Eric Branstad said the exact date of Trump's event still is to be determined, but that it will be roughly in mid-June before Terry Branstad leaves to serve as U.S. ambassador to China. He said the event will coincide with a send-off to the former governor.
The event likely will be in Cedar Rapids as originally scheduled, Eric Branstad said.
Iowa won't be completely without executive branch visits next week, as Vice President Mike Pence is slated to appear at Joni Ernst's Roast & Ride fundraising event June 3.
