This is the list of the 40 players the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have protected on their initial roster and affiliate roster of younger players.
No real surprises other than defenseman Ivan Provorov's name. He left the team very late in the regular season in April to tryout for the Russian junior national team and wasn't expected to return this season.
He's still not, as the high-end defenseman was drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the recent Canadian Hockey League import draft and is nearly certain to play major junior hockey in Canada.
These rosters are fluid and do not guarantee any player his spot on the 2014-15 team.
