Cedar Rapids pursuit ends with arrest of two teens
An early-morning police pursuit today ended with two teenagers behind bars.
The chase started around 2:20 a.m. Monday morning at Williams Boulevard and 16th Avenue southwest. Police say the black Ford Explorer was reported stolen out of Davenport. The driver and a passenger tried to get away from the SUV, but police found them behind May City Bowl.
Police say the driver is a 17-year-old from Davenport. The passenger was 18-year-old Charles Lard of Cedar Rapids. Both teens are charged with second-degree theft and interference with official acts.
