Cedar Rapids police investigate shooting on southeast side
CEDAR RAPIDS - A man who was treated at the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound on Sunday evening is expected to recover, Cedar Rapids police said Monday.
Police are investigating the incident, Cedar Rapids police spokesman Greg Buelow said.
A 29-year old man arrived at Mercy Medical Center with a gunshot wound shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, Buelow said. He said the injuries are believed to be 'non-life-threatening.”
Police believe the shooting took place near 15th Street and Mount Vernon Rd SE. The man's name has not been released.
