Two Cedar Rapids men were jailed Tuesday morning after East Dubuque police say they found more than 23 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their car.
Kevin L. Thompson, 37, and Perry Hooks Jr., 39, have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a felony.
Police said the two men were stopped for a traffic violation at 1:28 a.m. today on Highway 20 at Sixth Street in East Dubuque. A K-9 officer brought to the scene by the Dubuque County Sheriff's Department alerted to the presence of marijuana in the mens' car, and police found 23.4 pounds of suspected marijuana in the trunk after a search.
Police also seized more than $1,300 from the men, who were being held in the Jo Daviess (Ill.) County Jail Tuesday morning pending a bond hearing.
