CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man, convicted of child pornography in 2009, pleaded guilty Wednesday to another charge of child pornography.
Craig Watters, 30, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of distribution of child pornography in June and July 2014. Watters, during the hearing, admitted to distributing and attempting to distribute over the internet photos or videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
He also admitted to knowing they were minors.
U.S. District Chief Magistrate C.J. Williams said Watters faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 40 years in federal prison. He also faces five years to life on supervised release following any prison time.
Watters was previously convicted in 2009 of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography. He was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to serve life on supervised release.
Sentencing isn't set at this time. Watters remains in jail pending sentencing.
