A Cedar Rapids man charged with possession of child pornography last month changed his plea to guilty at a hearing in U.S. District Court today.
Thomas P. Stevenson, 51, in a plea agreement signed Aug. 19 and received Monday, agreed that
"on or about December 21, 2009, at his residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, defendant knowingly possessed images of child pornography on a Seagate external hard drive that had been manufactured outside of the state of Iowa. Defendant knew the images depicted children who were under the age of 18."
Stevenson had been released on bond but is now in the Fayette County Jail pending sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Stevenson faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
