Cedar Rapids man faces sexual abuse charge

A Cedar Rapids man is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl on three occasions.

Brian J. Hamilton, 20, of 2525 Linwood St. SW, has been charged with three counts of third-degree sexual abuse. Police said the sex on March 26, March 27 and March 29 was illegal due to the girl's age.

The incidents allegedly took place at Hamilton's previous residence, 3010 Wilson Ave. SW, No. 11.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said a relative of the girl reported the activity to police. According to a criminal complaint, Hamilton admitted to having sex with the underage girl on three occasions. He was arrested Friday after coming to the Police Station.

Hamilton was booked at the Linn County Jail and released on a promise to appear. He has a court date set for April 24.
