Cedar Rapids man dies following crash on Interstate 380
Ruben Mayo, 32, of Cedar Rapids, died yesterday after injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 380, early Monday morning, Oct. 5, 2009.
Mayo was riding northbound on I-380 when the driver of the vehicle, Troy Fox, 36, of Hiawatha, lost control of the car and collided with a light pole. Both Mayo and Fox were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Police said Fox had been wearing a seat belt but were unsure if Mayo was, according to earlier reports.
Fox was upgraded to good condition last Tuesday.
