CEDAR RAPIDS - Police are asking for information regarding an incident Sunday in southwest Cedar Rapids that resulted in the death of a Cedar Rapids man.
Charles Flint, 60, died around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from injuries related to the Sunday incident, according to police.
Officers responded to the 100 block of 11th Street SW at 5:07 p.m. Sunday to find Flint injured and lying on the street. Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death.
Flint died at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The incident originally was being investigated by police as a pedestrian accident, and later as an assault after police received additional information that an assault occurred, Buelow said.
Buelow said an autopsy will be performed on the man, which will be an important part of the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at (319) 286-5491.
