A 20-year-old Cedar Rapids man pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court to one count of being a domestic violence abuser in possession of a shotgun.
Jamie Goad, convicted in April 2009 of assault causing bodily injury, domestic abuse, was wanted on a probation violation warrant in April 2010. Officers found out Goad had tried to sell a shotgun at an apartment the police had been watching, according to court records.
Officers recovered a shotgun under two of Goad's sweatshirts in a garage for the apartment, according to court records. The shotgun had been stolen in a Cedar Rapids burglary on March 30.
Goad faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
