Cedar Rapids man charged with possessing child porn

A 51-year-old Cedar Rapids man was charged Thursday in U.S. District Court with one count of possession of child pornography.
Thomas Stevenson, on or about Dec. 21, possessed visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the indictment that was unsealed Thursday.
The images were found on an external computer hard drive.
Stevenson faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Stevenson was released on bond and a trial is set for Sept. 13.
