CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces several charges after authorities say he attempted to elude police as they attempted to pull him over for driving at a high rate of speed.
Adam Miller, 33, was arrested at 7:50 a.m. Sunday and charged with failure to provide proof of financial liability, violation of conditions of restricted license, attempting to elude and driving while barred.
Miller was traveling northbound on Edgewood Road where officers noticed he was making a right turn at a high rate of speed onto 33rd Avenue to travel eastbound, said Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow.
Officers turned to follow the vehicle that was estimated to be traveling at 60 mph and later 100 mph on 33rd Avenue, Buelow added.
'The vehicle eventually pulled over at approximately 850 33rd Avenue SW,” Buelow said. 'Officers identified the driver and determined that he was barred from driving and also required to have SR-22 insurance, which he did not have.”
