CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man was charged Wednesday with threatening two men with a gun as they tried to escape in a car.
Deangelo Mack, 20, was charged in Linn County District Court with two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He and some 'associates” confronted and chased Brandon Westpheling on Tuesday at 6622 College Park CT. SW in Cedar Rapids, according to a criminal complaint.
Westpheling tried to take shelter in the apartment of Thomas Lalla but when both men got into Lalla's vehicle to leave the area, Mack came over to the car and pointed a handgun at them in a 'threatening manner.” Both men believed Mack was going to shoot them, the complaint shows.
If convicted on both charges, Mack faces 20 years in prison.
