GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - The Cedar Rapids Kernels were limited to one hit Sunday in a 7-1 loss to Wisconsin at Neuroscience Group Field.
Zander Wiel's first-inning single was the only hit from Cedar Rapids (20-16). The Kernels' lone run came in the second, thanks in large part to a throwing error past second on a possible double-play ball.
Wisconsin (17-20) scored twice in the bottom of the second inning and three times in the fourth to pull away. Starting pitcher Miles Nordgren (1-1) took the loss, allowing seven hits and four earned runs in five innings.
The Kernels have Monday off, then begin a week-long homestand that begins with a Tuesday night game at Beloit.
