Cedar Rapids house fire displaces two residents

Two people have been displaced after a fire broke out in the basement of their Cedar Rapids home.
Cedar Rapids Fire Department was dispatched to the home, located at 4202 Old Oak Dr. NE, at 12:44 p.m. Saturday, according to a release.
Both homeowners were outside when firefighters arrived, their dog was unaccounted for.
The release states that firefighters entered the house to find heavy smoke throughout the entire structure and were able to located a fire in the basement of the home, which was extinguished in approximately 15 minutes.
The family's dog was found and removed from the house unharmed, according to the release.
Overall the fire caused moderate fire, smoke, and water damage to the basement and light smoke damage to the first and second floors of the home.
No injuries were reported in the release and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
