Cedar Rapids firetruck involved in crash

CEDAR RAPIDS - A crash between a car and a firetruck sent two people to the hospital Friday morning.
Police officers on the scene said a firetruck was traveling on Johnson Avenue NW when it collided with the car, which was traveling on 18th Street NW.
The firetruck was on its way to the central fire station on First Avenue East for training, not responding to a call, police said.
The two firefighters inside were uninjured. Two people inside the car were taken to the hospital.
Authorities did not immediately provide an update on their condition.
