Cedar Rapids council candidate forums planned

Now that the election slate is completed, The Gazette and KCRG-TV9 will send formal invitations Monday, Sept. 26, to the 10 candidates for Cedar Rapids City Council, asking them to participate in one of three candidates' forums we are setting up. I'll be following up with conversations with each. They are learning about this at the same time you are.

The schedule we've worked up is: District 2 candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Washington High School; District 4 candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Coolidge Elementary School; and the at-large candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. Each forum will last one hour, from 7 to 8 p.m.
