Cascade’s Rea gets call to the big leagues

The San Diego Padres have called up Cascade's Colin Rea, it was learned Saturday.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound right-handed pitcher has had a breakthrough season, pitching in the Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game last month. He went 3-2 with a 1.08 earned run average in 12 starts at Double-A San Antonio before being promoted to Triple-A El Paso.
Rea was 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA in six starts for the Chihuahuas. It's unknown when the 25-year-old will make his first start and MLB debut.
