Candidate forum marks kickoff of 2012 caucus campaign
March 7 might be remembered as the start of the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Five potential contenders led by former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich strutted their stuff in front of a conservative audience at the first multi-candidate forum of the Iowa campaign that will culminate 11 months from now at precinct caucuses. He was joined Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition Spring Kickoff by former Godfathers Pizza CEO Herman Cain, former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
