Bullet fired into Cedar Rapids church
UPDATE: Police are investigating an act of criminal mischief after a bullet was fired through the exterior of the Spirit of Faith Family Church, 4070 22nd Ave. SW.
Police were called to the church around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.
It's unknown when or why the bullet was fired. Someone discovered it on the floor inside the church, said Sgt. Stephen Keller.
Nobody was injured. Police spokeswoman, Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the investigation is continuing as an act of criminal mischief. Hamblin said officers had no suspects in the church vandalism as of 3:40 p.m.
Attempts to reach church pastor Jay Eberly were unsuccessful. Some members of the church community walked around the building after the incident, but all declined to be interviewed. .
