Brown, O’Handley win USHL honors

The United States Hockey League announced Tuesday that Indiana's Jeff Brown and Waterloo's P.K. O'Handley have been selected the league's general manager and coach of the year, respectively.
Brown's Indiana Ice defeated O'Handley's Black Hawks in a full five games in the Clark Cup championship series.
Indiana went 42-11-7 in the regular season, its 91 standings points good for first place in the Eastern Conference. He procured five first-round draft picks in Phase Two of the 2013 USHL Draft, drafting important players such as Aidan Muir, Scott Conway and Brian Pinho.
O'Handley led Waterloo to the Anderson Cup for most regular-season standings points. He set the USHL record for career victories earlier in the season.
In other hockey related news, former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders assistant coach Travis Winter has been hired as an assistant at Bemidji State University. That is his alma mater.
