UPDATE: A 1-year-old boy was not seriously hurt when his brother pushed him out of a second-story window Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the boy, Michael Daniels Jr., had no apparent injuries after falling from the window at 607 15th St. SE. Officers determined the boy had been playing on a bed with siblings when his 3-year-old brother pushed him through an open window.
He fell onto a grassy area, and was already up when officers arrived around 4:40 p.m.
“He didn't want to sit on mom's lap,” Hamblin said. “He was kicking his legs, waving his arms and moving his neck. He was crying, but he didn't seem injured.”
The child was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. No information about his medical condition was available Thursday morning.
Police said the push was not intentional. The boy's mother was downstairs when it happened, and does not face any charges in the incident, police said. She declined to comment to SourceMedia Group.
