Bomb threat forces Starmont schools to evacuate

UPDATE: Starmont schools were evacuated for a bomb threat just after 10 a.m. Tuesday while the Fayette County Sherriff's department searched the school.
School officials found a suspicious note in a restroom at the school. The note indicated an explosive device was placed in the high school library and was to detonate at 12:00 p.m.
Students were moved to several churches in Strawberry Point. High school students are at the Lutheran church. Middle school students are at the Catholic church and elementary school students are at the Methodist Church.
The school received an all clear from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at around 1:20 p.m. The students finished out their school day as scheduled.
The Fayette County Sheriff's office will continue investigating this incident.
