Body found in Wapsipinicon River

QUASQUETON — The body of an adult man was found in the Wapsipinicon River just north of the bridge in Quasqueton on Tuesday morning, according to the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call from a fisherman reporting a body in the river at 8:20 a.m. Deputies, fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene.
The body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy. The sheriff’s office said there is no reason to suspect foul play at this point in the investigation.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Quasqueton Fire Department, AMR Ambulance and the Buchanan County medical examiner.
