Lt. Scott Elam of the Marion Police Department confirms a body was found today at the Williamsburg apartment complex at 825 26th St. Law enforcement responded about 2:45 p.m.
Marion Police Chief Harry Daugherty said the body is that of a white male, but no age or cause of death was released. Investigators are treating the scene as a "suspicious death", but they believe there is no threat to the public
The apartment complex is the same location where pizza delivery driver Greg Wells, 31, was killed on Jan. 6, 2002. Brandy Byrd and David Keegan were found guilty of luring Wells into Keegan's apartment, where they bashed him in the head with a hammer and slit his throat. Both are serving life sentences for murder.
