Police arrested a Belle Plaine man Tuesday evening after he threatened an officer and resisted arrest, authorities said.
Dennis D. Cronbaugh, 68, was arrested for first-degree harassment and interference with official acts at his home at 7578 11th Ave. Dr. Police went there around 5 p.m. because of an allegation that he was violating a protective order.
Police say he threatened violence toward the officer who went to his home. A brief struggle ensued and authorities used a Taser to subdue him. None of the officers were hurt.
Cronbaugh was taken to Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, where he was treated and released for minor injuries related to the Taser deployment. He was transferred to the Benton County Jail.
