The Iowa Straw Poll will be the key to a precinct caucus victory for U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota Republican said during a Statehouse visit March 24.
Bachmann, who will be 55 in two weeks, has been concentrating efforts in Iowa as well as early contest states. The Iowa native is among the 2012 GOP hopefuls who spoke to home schoolers at a Capitol rally Wednesday. Saturday, she will join Gov. Haley Barbour, Ambassador John Bolton, Herman Cain, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, and former Sen. Rick Santorum at Rep. Steve King's Conservative Principles Conference in Des Moines.
