Another suspect in connection to an April 12 home invasion has pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court, according to court documents.
Randon J. Hill, 20, of Marshalltown pleaded guilty Friday to charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and riot in the case. His sentencing is set for Aug. 26.
Hill is the second of six suspects to plead guilty in the case. Samantha Lynn M. Robinson-Ricks, 19, of St. Paul, Minn., pleaded guilty late last month and accepted a plea agreement from Johnson County Assistant Attorney Michael Brennan.
The trial for a third suspect, Joshua B. Baker, 21, of Coggon, is scheduled to begin this morning in Johnson County District Court. The trial is expected to last for three days.
Iowa City police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Haywood Drive at 3:02 a.m. April 12. Officers said the people in the home were sleeping when their sliding glass door was smashed open and three men and one woman entered. The robbers made the residents lie face down on the floor as they stole items.
DeSean V. Lipscomb, 19, of Anchorage, Alaska; Tyler D. Olesen, 20, of Cedar Rapids; and Kristina M. Ewing, 18, of Waukon, have also been charged in the incident.
