Linda McConnell didn't think her Basket Bow-Tique shop would ever return to downtown Cedar Rapids after the massive flood of June 2008 forced it to close for several months and led to a move to Hiawatha.
That changed on Nov. 17, when Basket Bow-Tique opened in a storefront at 116 Third Ave. SE, returning after an absence of more than three years.
"We have a lovely location in Hiawatha, but something just kept drawing me back downtown," McConnell said. "Maybe it's because we were down here for 16 years."
The company, located in the Coventry Gardens Mall on First Avenue before the flood, specializes in made-in-Iowa gifts, foods and beverages.
