Another Cedar Rapids woman arrested for prostitution
Police made another prostitution arrest late Tuesday, their sixth in a two-block area of southeast Cedar Rapids since August.
Patricia A. Fredette, 39, of 1263 First Ave. SE, is charged with prostitution after she allegedly flagged down a plain-clothed officer in an unmarked car in the 100 block of 14th Street SE around 10:30 p.m. The officer was on general patrol, police said.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Fredette offered oral sex to the officer in exchange for $30.
Fredette was taken to the Linn County Jail.
There have been 24 prostitution arrests in Cedar Rapids this year, most recently in the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Second Avenue SE, police said.
